Hello all,
Today I joined the I30 club but alas Im in a holding pattern for the next 8 - 10 weeks.

I ordered a SLX CDRi Auto in sliver.
Addiitonal options include
Protectz pack
Cruise control (after market) - hopefully Hundai will have done something about the factory option before it gets here..
Genunie Mats
Boot lip protector
2 key remotes (just in case!)
Replacement drivers mirror to make it a normal miror rather than the close up one (I think they will simply get a glass mirror cut and double sided tape it to the top of the existing one)

I did not have any finance and did not have a trade in.
I was told that the rrp for all this lot is around $33,500 (or close to that!)
After much shopping around I was able to drive the stealer down to around $30,700 drive away..

Will hang around in the holding pattern now and wait not so paitently!.. :w00t:

See ya around

Regards
Brendan

Hi Bd,

We will try to help you through the painful wait....with lots of idle banter (I'm good at that as you have probably already guessed, then there's Shambles and Bob and Lakes and Dave and Jess....)

Sounds like i nice combo you've ordered. Tassie Dave has a Diesel Auto in Ulverstone (only 20 minutes away from where I live) I'll have to try and thumb a ride to compare with my manual...

Cheers,

Dazz

Brendan,

Welcome and don't stress too much during the wait. It is an interesting time. We were lucky in that at the same time we purchased a new Getz Click 1.6, so I had something to play with. However, that only lasted a month and then I became impatient.

I never found this forum until late in the piece and at that stage it had just started to imerge for i30 owners. Things really livened up when Dazz, Shambles, Dave, Lakes and Co. came along for the ride. In the last few weeks it has been a hive of activity with heaps of members lerking about contantly.

This, and the i30 Owners Club, has to be the best source of information for potential and current i30 owners. Everyone seems willing to share and help out.

Bob

Hi Brendon, just got my SX CRDi 5 speed CC window tint in C Silver today but had to rush it home and get back to work so only drove it 15K. was very pleased with the dealer, as never had CC fitted and he got it done got the pre delivery done got window tint done and got it ready for me in express time in imaculate condition i've never seen one so shinny under the hood b4. it is march 08 build date have 27K on it so far. they gave me two remote keys never asked. i payed cash no trade in. it has a full tank of fuel i think the dealer said that is not normal but i was good looking :) .
anyway he said send any friends his way he will look after them, car was only delivered last thursday but i was away. i'm happy with the CC they had fitted looks good in the SX is australian made have not had time to take picks but has 4 buttons on steering wheel hard to explaine but very much like my falcon so am used to that system.
love the motor, but i don't think they are anything special at steering or handleing but just how it feels to me. the dealer had a red SR there and another Silver CRDi SX with mags but had Not For Sale on it. he told me if i don't like it bring it back he will sell it easy. was a guy there wanting to buy one while i was there.
then what do you think? but i spot a cont silver i30 SLX driving along while i'm at the lights near work.
John

Hi again Brendan. 8 weeks isn't so bad as my peers have hinted. Use the time to familiarise yourself with all those i30 problems that none of us seem to have :57:

I love my motor. Finest motor I've had in quite a few years.

Oh, sorry. That wouldn't have helped would it :whistling:

Hi Lakes,

Have you driven your car out on the open road at speed through curves? I find that while the handling and steering are nothing to write home about around town, once you get a head of steam up the steering really comes into its own - plenty of feel and no vagueness  . Handling also seems happier.

Regards

Lawrie

Hey Guys,

Saw a nice shiny silver SR in "town" today (see phone pix). First silver SR i've seen in the flesh (looked much better than in these pix - really caught my eye)

Haven't got any of our club flyers in my car yet as waiting until we migrate to the new site (slightly different web address) When that happens I'll modify and repost the "Welcome" form here and on i30 club site.

I wrote a note and stuck it under their wipers saying nice car..etc, etc.. and inviting them here (couldn't remember the clubs exact address)

Keen...who me? :P

Rgds,

Dazz
