Hello All,

This is the only active forum that I have found that could help me with my issue. To start off my brother bought this car back in 2003, we were told it only had a bad water pump and that it would be a snappy fix, when we got the car home we found out it had a cracked block and the turbo was shot. We got a new block and turbo but my brother decided that it would be a good idea to have the block over bored by twenty thousands. It cost to to much to purchase new custom made pistons and it hard to find anyone to do them, and it cost to much to have the block sleved so we can use the stock pistons. I read all of the stickys above and noticed that the 1993-1995 engines were made by Hyundai and that they are not interchangeable with the mitusibishi engines. I do belive the transmission is on the right side when you are looking at it from open hood aspect. I would like to know if there is any other car engine that could be swaped inplace of the current not working engine. The car is a 1993 Hyundai S-Coupe Turbo. Sorry for the lengthy post and thank you for all of your help.

A 1.8/2.0 motor from a Lantra or Coupe can fit, fairly easy and fairly low cost engine swap, if not, it will depend on how deep your wallet is.

However with this swap, you will lose A/C and have to make some custom power steering lines if you want to keep power steering. As far as i know, only the left hand side engine mount needs to be modified and the rest should slot in pretty easily, along with wiring. If you use the gearbox from the 1.8 or 2.0 engine, you will need to get their drive shafts shortened.

Thanks for your help, I am currently on the phone with a hyundai dealer ship that is near me and they say they might actually have a spare engine block sitting in the shop(hopefully) If not, thanks for the info.
