Hi, I have a 2001 Santro and lately the fuel gauge seems to be acting weird. I have less than half the fuel in the tank, but the fuel gauge stays at half before ignition (but with the battery on). A few seconds after ignition, the fuel gauge shows the correct reading. This has started happening after I had the A/C serviced - the service person replaced the temperature sensor which was not functioning with a thermostat (although I don't see a link between this an the fuel gauge). Shouldn't the fuel gauge show the correct amount of fuel when the battery is turned on? Any help would be greately appreciated. Thaks in advance!!

l don't see a link to this either, the fuel gauge should show the correct reading constantly regardless of whether the ignition is on or off

Hi, thanks for your reply...I forgot to mention this: I had yesterday removed the entire indicator panel to replace one of the panel lights. The panel was completely disconnected from the car (i.e., sitting on my lap) but still the fuel gauge was showing the half reading...do I have problem with the meter itself?
