Thank's Bob & Jessi, i'll let you know how everything goes Bob.
Jessi i do a lot of driving, i done almost 1,000k this weekend in my ute, was on cruise control most of the time as double demerit points here in NSW for ANZAC weekend. was useing my GPS as the speedo more acurate. i'll let you know how the cruise control works in the i30. but i have driven 500,000k since 2000 and used cruise control. if the motor has high torque at low revs they work well. my UTE holds overdrive @ 100KPH up hills around corners wet or dry no problem as just holds the speed never has to kick back. but with a motor that needs 4,500 rev to get TQ like most petrol 4 cylinders they kick back into low gear on corners or hills and this is were cruise in the wet could be dangeriouse but not with a motor that stays in one gear and has no trouble holding the speed. with manuel trans if they can't hold the speed in the gear you are in they just turn off the cruise. the sonata 4 cylinder we have has cruise and its very similar to what ford use but i've only driven that car a few times and only used the cruise at low speeds but worked ok.
John

Hey Jessi, i like the silver, i saw two i30 at a dealer on sunday parked side by side one white one continental silver , both looked great to me, the white would be the safest colour as more visable. the silver goes well with the chrome grill. but i'm not into Bling :) it's an SX. i'm not the type to spend much time looking at cars. i drive them, i only order what i think i will use, not what i think looks nice, but the colour is important for resale. i like a car that does what i want. the short drive i had in the four i30 CRDi i drove all did what i wanted for the short slow test drive, only way to find out if it soes what i want on a trip is to cross the blue mountains. Mount Tommar & mount Victoria are the killer's . so i'll find out how it handles them in a few weeks. also the 15" steel wheels look wide enough for the size of the i30 the TQ it makes is not that great and the weight of the car does not need any more support that a wider wheel and tyre offers. so thats just Bling :) but if you like Bling go for it! just remember in the wet a wide tyre is not as good for grip as a skinny tyre. also the smaller tyre is easier on wheel bearings. but if the wheel and tyre is lighter that is a good thing. i would have to weigh the different wheel and tyre combo's to really know what would be ther best, but Tyre's can be the heavy part of the deal and alloy wheels can be light so, a low profile tyre should be the lightest, just when you hit a pot hole at speed, they can damage the alloy wheels very easy.
well got to get some work done.

Hi John,

It's all good... as I like to say

I didn't need a photobucket account to post pix on this forum only our "other" one.

When you post a reply on this forum it gives you the option to add an image..

Just click on the browse button and navigate to where the photo is on your PC then click "add this attachment" button and wait for it to upload. do the same for any other photos you want to post then when all uploaded click "add reply"..it's that easy.

P.S. Like silver myself "my first choice" but in our house I make all the decisions then we do "exactly as my wife says" - with minor decisions anyway. As it happens she's usually right and MB is a B....dy nice colour.

Like you said Silver is a good choice for resale and from my experience is one of the easiest to keep "looking clean".

Hey thank's Brendan, at this point i don't even know what the cruise control looks like myself. but, hopefully i'll get time to pick the car up tomorrow, then will have to try to do the insurance wednesday so won't drive it wednesday till that is done. what's everyone payed for comprehensive insurance? they say here in Sydney they rip us off, but we are used to it. :) .

Hey Dazz, thank's, i know how to get a pic into my PC so i'll have a go after i get the car.

this is off topic, but the guy across the road got the latest model Mazda 6, it's a company car but he gets to use it like its his, him and his wife picked it up two weeks back and drove it to QLD he just got back sunday. tells me he likes the car it's beautifull, i ask him if it's better than the Dunnydoor ( oh sorry m8 ha ha) that it replaced, he said the como V6 had more grunt but the Maz was nice to drive we checked the trip pc it only averaged 11L / 100 and it is a 2.5 4 cylinder, still new but his V6 averaged around 10L/ 100 that is city and country. that's why i would not buy a 4 cyl petrol as if i lost Torque to climb mountains and still used as much fuel i would be a broken man!
Cheers
John
ps, i told him he is a good boy as his carbon footprint is smaller he laughed
