hi every one on this forum

i have a very funny situation on my accent 1996 -hope to find somebody that will be able to explain.

if the engine is hot (driving about 10mins and switching the engine off) the engine turns fine but it will not start if i press on the accelerator.

to get the engine started again i must leave the accelerator (DO NOT TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR) and after about 5 to 6 try's it will start ,once the engine started it runs fine.

when the engine is could it starts when i step on the accelerator.

things that i replaced include the following ,plugs, plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, batt and also added fuel line cleaner- none of this seems to help.

1.how does the choke work on this engine, could it be stuck?

2.if the fuel pump is faulty, how is it then possible to get 4000rpm while driving?

3.how do i get access to the on line manual for this model- accent 1.5? i get a 'page not found' when i click on the link.

yes i have a lot of ????????????????

PLEASE HELP

I am not sure what your problem is I would have guessed fuel filter. If your choke was stuck open I would be guessing that you would be getting some real poor gas mileage. go to www.hmaservice.com and create an account. That is how I access the online manual.

I would check your fuel pump. When you turn your key to start position without turning over the engine do you hear a buzz sound near the back of your car? It is not that loud so you have to listen for it. Your fuel pump might not be working all the time. You should hear a buzz every time.

Cheers,

Jason
