Hi

I am new to the forum but am very impressed at the levels of knowledge here.
I have a Hyundai Getz 1.1 CDX 2003 and am unsure when it needs its cambelt changing. Does anyone know the change interval on this car?
Also does anyone know if this car has a non interference engine or not ie if the belt breaks does it wreck the engine ?

Hope someone can help

you need to change the timing belt at 50,000 miles or five years whichever comes first, and yes it is an interference engine

does this have something to do with... when you start the car up it lets off a kinda of whistle sound... very loud from the front end of the car???
... i think if that happens you are suposed to spray it with WD40 and it goes away... however i havent tried yet :) will do soon...
what iv noticed is the sound goes away if i rev the engine a few times?
acualli i maybe talking about the fan belt... correct me if am wrong ? :innocent:
