QUOTE(Braedz @ Apr 25 2008, 02:12 AM) Hi All, This is what i did to my Accent. All up it cost me around 50 AUD. I plan on getting a proper SRI with a decent filter, but this will keep me happy in the mean time. Nice, that almost looks like if you removed the air filter box the SRI would drop right in the hole. BTW .. do you have any links to what parts you used ??

Yeh, that looks like an easy install, would definately invest in it if I knew what parts you had used. Good for the short term, until I can afford something proper.

QUOTE(Tango2Go @ Apr 25 2008, 09:18 AM) Very workable mod and looks nice. I was considering something similar ,but right off the throttle body.I didn't want to have to work around a place to hook the hose (weld ob a bung) .This bypasses that problem. I do have one question though. What is the horseshoe shjaped thing closer to the intake? A RESONATOR

I wouldn't remove it, because you need it for the ECU. But I would make some cuts in it. So it would help hold the piping and filter nicely inside the box. Use it as a type of heat shield. This is the exact type of DIY mod I've been telling everyone to do, if you don't wish to spend the dollars on a great looking setup like the AEM one. It's cheap, functinal, and you can put any filter you wish on it. Hint Hint (AMSOIL)

QUOTE(Komptek @ Apr 26 2008, 08:43 AM) Dude I just noticed in the picture you have a differant engine cover. Do you have a 1.6L engine or something else? Here is what the 07 Aussie Version Engine Bay looks like. BTW I have got a K&N Filter now, you can definately notice the difference in performance with a quality filter. NOTE: Still got the old filter attached in this photo. Will update soon.

QUOTE(SaphusGS @ Apr 30 2008, 02:01 PM) Komptek... I think that Might be a different engine entirely... If you'll notice... thats not a vanity piece... and there are no coils on top of it. This is definately the beta 1.6 with cvvt.
