2000 Accent, fuel problem

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 3 Joined: 21-April 08 Member No.: 44,316 Status: Location: USA Drives: 2000 Hyundia accent	not sure if this is the right forum, if not sorry... I have a 2000 accent... my problem has just started and is that it takes me 20-25 minutes to fill the tank at the gas station... the second I start to put in gas it kicks back and shuts off the nozzle... I have removed the filler tube and checked for obstructions.... I have felt down in the tank and there seems to be a flapper valve of some kind, I guess to stop fuel from splashing out when cornering... I pushed on it and it seemed alittle stiff... I didnt see any way to remove it.. but havent dropped the tank... anyone else had this problem? and if so what did it take to fix it? thanks JT
