Anyone had a sunroof fitted to the i30 as yet? Apparently they are fitted locally but supplied by Hyundai. About $2500 for electric with memory. The missus wants one on her CRDi which is due in June.

I recently bought a i30 CRDi povo pack. I'm interesting in those audio steering controls from the first link... http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/pro...roducts_id=1159Do these just bolt onto the wheel and plug straight into the loom? or is there modification needed? And do they need to be coded? I'm not afraid of installing (**** im a tech for mercedes benz) but I do like my 5 year warranty!

QUOTE(dazzling_darryl @ May 18 2008, 07:25 PM) :00000732: toxxic Sorry can't help with the question although have bookmarked that link as phone control would be handy (guess I'd need a bluetooth module as well?) Pleasing to see a Mercedes Tech was impressed enough with the i30 to buy one... good stuff look forward to your input... Cheers, Dazz Thanks for the welcome! The reason i'm askin is i know that on a merc usual procedure is to plug and then some coding is dowloaded from germany and transfured to the control units. I guess it depends on if a canbus system is implemented (doubtfull). Not sure about the phone control? does the i30 have handsfree bluetooth as an option? I guess there would be a separate bluetooth module needed? Does anyone have access to workshop infomation (i.e. service manuals etc?) Ah the i30 crdi is probably in my opinion the best thing hyundai has ever done, I only work on mercedes diesels and have driven many competitors diesels and can tell you the i30 is definately on par, technology wise at least. Build quality only time can tell but with a 5yr warrranty you cant really go wrong - especially for the price.

QUOTE(Shambles @ May 18 2008, 09:03 PM) Hi Toxxic! Shambles here. Welcome to H-F  That's the first time I've seen the bluetooth addon. Quite interested to see if I can get one here in the UK. Definitely will need additional module for the BT transceiver, but as for the wiring.... who knows Thanks for the welcome guys! From what I can see the buttons sit in the actual steering wheel so i'm guessing they plug directly into the clock spring (steering wheel angle sensor) behind the drivers airbag... But i will confirm this next week when pickup my i30. I'm mostly interested in the audio controls though, my povo pack 2000 commodore has it and I wouldnt mind it in this car. I'm hoping that it plugs sraight in, no aditional modules, wiring or coding needed and it essentially just tap's into the current headunit controls! IF only there were some hyundai tech's around haha! or even some literature!
