[B]hi
I have just bought a excel 1996 goes well for a week. start okay someitmes need a bit of pedal.
problem is sometimes it just stalls when i put the clutch down?
engine dies.
dont know why it only sometimes does it?
can anyone help?

The problem you have sounds like the ''Crankshaft position sensor''.
It is fitted in the block on the right hand side just under the exhaust manifold.
It is fixed with one bolt and a conector,easy to change when the manifold is cold..
