Hi Everyone,

I have made PDFs of the results from these two sites but I don't think you are supposed to copy info from a website and share it without permission so it's probably best if I give you the links and let you take a look yourself...

Some of you may have already done this but it's interesting to change around the comparisons (it's also a good way to shut up the critics)

They are both ways to compare the i30 with its competitors. I did this on the Hyundai site with the SLX Crdi against a variety of other similar diesels and on the REDBOOK site against the Hybrid Prius and Hybrid Civic ( Gee it makes you proud...) :gitara:

Links are

http://www.hyundai.com.au/i30/default.aspx
(then click on compare and follow the prompts)

and

http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/home.php
(then select your choice of I30 model the select cars for comparison - up to 2 others, the Hybrids make for an interesting comparison)

Have fun,

And let me know what you think

Dazzler

"Delete" thats it? 55 people have looked at my posting and all I get is "delete"

Delete please would be a bit better... only joking!

How about this.....

I "had" to go to Launceston to have a look at the display of Targa Tasmania cars in the CBD (a sort of free expo) and on the way home up the Southern Outlet (around 35 degree hill) I gave a late model previous shape Subaru WRX a real scare!

From 60km to "around" 110km up this hill (double lanes) gave him a real run for his money. Around half the price and half the fuel useage, smaller engine but lots or Torque... Yum

Bye

sorry Dazza, just deleting my post coz I always say something stOOPID! Redbook was one resource I used A LOT when determining what car to buy. Particularly interesting to see fuel consumption, and torque which i30 drools over the Focus, Astra hatch, older version Vectra, Barina and a few other cars I was looking at.

BTW where's these pics of Dazza?! share!!!

I was looking at another thread with a post by Dazz. I thought maybe one of the pics he put on it was of him, but I couldn't work out which one.

Hi Jamie,

Any chance of Scanning it and posting it here. I missed getting the paper today.

Is it a favourable review? What colour did they use for the pix? Silver or Vivid Blue is my guess. Did they do a test drive, If so of which model... Sorry I'm getting excited.

Worst case scenario keep it safe and Ill swap a ride in my Diesel SLX for a squizzy
Catch up soon...

Dazz

P.S. Us old farts have got to go to bed its late. Its even a bit late for a young fella like you. I'll read your reply in the morning (hopefully)

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for that I'll try and track one down in Devonport as well (I'll reimburse you for the $1.40 or whatever it is) much catch up soon.

The Wife and I usually go to the Expo and watch at least one competition stage or sometimes two but work and other commitments this year are making that hard. I timed my holidays badly.

We went to the Prologue the last couple of years (a great day) but not this year :(

Some of our favourite viewing spot have been at Preston, Cethana and even south of Hobart but Hellyer gorge would no doubt be just as good. Have a great day.

Hope you're enjoying the postings.

Regards,

Dazz

Hi M8,

She's not too bad (I'm on my third "bride")

She just said something like "grow up, how old do you think you are..." but she had a grin on her face at the time.

She likes the I30 but prefers driving her Tiida more which is "nearly" as good in its own way. It's so different from the CRDi very revvy and its 6 speed is fairly close ratio. They are actually a lot quicker than the quirky styling would suggest.

Sometimes I give it a spin because I have always enjoyed Nissan Motors (although this one has probably got a fair bit of Renault in it)

On Ya
