My dealer in the UK wants lots of £ to fit the Parrot CK3100. As far as I can tell - they are easy to fit if you can get to the back of the radio. I'm told you have to remove the dash.

Does anyone know how? What have other people done for hands free?

I'm in the UK.

Hi badger_adams, welcome to these forums. I'm in the UK too. For a while I was beginning to think I was the only i30 driver here! (haven't seen any others on the road in 6 weeks).

Well I don't know about your parrot, but I use a Motorola device that clips onto the sun visor and uses bluetooth. I presume, though, that you want the radio to dampen down or mute when you receive a call? Tricky stuff getting that dash off I would have thought. Good luck.

Hello again.

Just spent half an hour checking up on your parrot device, as I'm sure you have already done. I wouldn't want to pay £130 to have it supplied & fitted I must say (which seems to be the cheapest I could find).

However, it would appear that the i30 glovebox can be removed quite easily (as you would do when changing the climate control filter) and with that out, you should be able to reach the rear of the radio, possibly to the Hyundai equivalent of the ISO block. As I said "it would appear", as I can't find evidence of anyone actually doing this, in the UK or anywhere.

Thanks for that. I think I saw something somewhere that said you could remove the "middle" part of the dash by removing screws in the top cubby hole - but I can no longer find that ref on the net :-(

I've never seen another on the road yet - mines black with the styling kit and TSW alloys. Looks good except the aftermarket alloys have wheel nuts that corode in the winter. I've got the dealer making a warranty claim at the moment!

Safe driving.

Hiya. Mine's also black but I don't know what "TSW" alloys are. Maybe you could show us a pic? There's a section in this forum called Members Garage where you can upload pics and share stuff. You can see mine there.

Also, there's a startup site here? which might prove useful for the future.
