I ahve a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 Fully loaded, with everything, including the premium Infinity Sound System with the Subwoofer.

My stock head unit tape deck doesn't work anymore, and now I can't use my Ipod in the card :( .
So i want to replace the stock unit with a new head unit. However i ran into problems when i went to best buy to buy one.

They told me that the Stock sub wouldn't work with an after market head unit. I'm still not sure what the explanation was that they gave me.

But my question is:

has anyone hooked the stock stereo system (all the infinity speakers + infinity sub) to an aftermarket head unit, like a sony of pioneer head unit, preferably one with a front auxilliary jack?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an 05 Tibby with the Infinity stereo, and I swapped out the head unit with no problems. You just have to buy the wiring harness. Your speakers and amp are all a 3 ohm system, so if you want to replace anything else you have to replace everything.
