I have a 2005 XG350L and purchased a 2-piece front mask due to my commute to work on the highway.
It works quite well and looks great. It will not hurt the paint finish if you follow two important steps:
1. When it starts raining try to remove the mask as soon as you can. Never leave the mask on when it is saturated (wet) and the warmth of the sun is heating up the hood.
2. Make sure to clean the mask and keep it free from sand, pebbles, salt, etc.
That's all you have to do.
