so if any one remembers, i said in a post a while ago that there was a cold air intake in the left fender.... well wheni took it off yesterday i looked and look and you know, i was wrong. it is nothing.. one little hole in the bottom. for all those with oem intake still, tkae that peice out. you car will breath so much better. that little intake thing that comes from the fender is usless. you pretty much starve your car of air due to lack of flow. check it out

Are you saying remove the entire intake system? Or just remove some tubing? Cause I'd love to replace the intake with a sri, but I can't afford that.

But if you're saying theres some way to increase air flow without spending 100's of dollars..

yeah just take out the inner fender on the driver side and the headlight on the drivers side and remover the two bolts. i dont know how much power it will add but your car will most certainly breath alot better. and/or you could take out the fender intake thing cuse its usless too

it gets dirty in there dont get me wrong but the way the vents are they dont leg alot of water and/or mud. most of it is dust that cant be avoided on car.

i took out all the intake leading up to the air box for three months and nothing went wrong. just the normal dust build up thats it. the filter is still factory clean minus a bit of dirt but again that cant be avoided

plus its not like you only take that air its just to help the car breath better.

do an ecu reset too.

take off the negative battery teminal and let your car sit for 5-10 minutes. re attatch and drive around like you normally would. it reteaches your ecu to utilize the cvvt and fuel managment system for the incrased air flow. i do it once a week cuse i usually tinker with my car on the weekends

ok. gosh...

start by turning the wheels all the way to the left. then take a philips screw driver and take out three plastic screw clips in the wheel well. then get on your back and look under the corner of the bumper and remove two plastic screw clips there. open the wheel well gaurd and with a 10mm socket take out the bolt that is attatched to the intake thing you will see it just wiggle the box.

then with a 10mm deep socket, take off the battery terminal posts and then with a 6 inch extention and a 12mm deep socket, remove the battery securing piece.

i dont rememberhow to take off the in take pieces leading to the intake box but its not rocket science.

then take off the grille screw clips and the grille bolt right beside the left head light. bend back the grille a little bit and use a 6 inch extention and 10mm socket to remove the headlight bolt. there is another one by the fuse box.

disconnect the lights at the bulb and remove the assembely. there is another bolt just inside the whole that is revieled(sp) when you take out the headlight. 10mm deep socket and remove. go back into the fender and pull that piece of juck out and throw it at a stray cat or that annoying neighbors dog.

mow you can be like Demi and leave everything as is and not put the headlight back in OR you can do all the step in reverse.\

this should take for the weak mechanical skilled 20-30 min. good guys about 10.

dont forget to do an ecu reset to adjust the new air flow.

i suck at giving instructions so if anyhting is confusing let me know and i will try to clear it up
