...why you gotta make me all depressed like that. To know my car's 6th in the top twenty least safe. And it's not even issues like traction, or roll over, its unsafe in side impacts, the one thing thats almost completely out of my control.

Ill sleep soundly tonight... Not.

Hyundai cleaned up on the awards for least expensive to insure! That strikes me as odd, I've found that down here, Hyundais have always been more expensive to insure than their counterparts.

As far as the most dangerous list goes, heh - I've had two cars in a row on that sucker! :w00t:

Look on the bright side, if sombody hits you ... chances are you wont know about it ... :w00t:

I ride a motorcycle too, no airbags on them either. They do seem to fall over at times too, although its a b**ch when they do that and your going 70mph .. :whistling:

There are several cars on thgere thar are suprising.
However concerning the Accent only the 4 door GLS was tried in most test. The Insurance Institute completely left out the 3 door.
One would assume it would at least be slightly better in side impact from the point of a solid back halve versus a center post.
Also the most common injury was to the right foot and leg near the console.
Still costs me a flat $1000 a year .LOL :whistling:

The tank sounds good, now we can finally have a vehicle that will stand up against those pesky Hummers and various other large SUV's.

Yea I was aware of the crash test results before I bought my SE but as one of you mentioned, the 3 door was left out of the testing all together. Not sure why. Also, when the '06 GLS was tested, it got 4 out of 5 stars for frontal, with 3 out of 5 for side impacts. So now it seems the '07 models have slightly lower scores. . .not sure what that's all about.

The funny thing is, the other car that's in the same class as the SE; the Toyota Yaris, is on the list as well. . . which might even be more dangerous due to less airbags.

But the good news is folks, the Accent, like the Rio, has excellent "accident avoidance" qualities. This is great if you're paying attention. :)

Someone posted that Hyundais are more expensive to insure. My insurance is dirt cheap
and especially now with this most recent change in my states insurance system.
Why would they be more costly to insure they certainly dont cost more then their counterparts!
