i <3 how much room there is in any hatchback car when you fold the rear seats down.

i recently folded the rear seats down (didn't even bother folding them flat) & made my way down to the airport to pick up a freight shipment. the warehouse employees asked where my truck was to load the pallet... uh, keep the pallet - i'm going to stuff everything in my car! and i did... 10 boxes each containing 1000 air fresheners. my little accent hauled 10,000 air fresheners from the vancouver international airport out into the suburbs to a friend's warehouse. true story.

i've also hauled thousands of printed brochures, dozens of security system components, a few pairs of skis (yes, all inside).

as time passes i'll also be hauling snowboards on a regular basis due to a side gig with my bro as north american sales for a uk snowboard brand.

anyone else haul stuff in their accent?

i bet i've moved more sporting goods in various hatchback cars than almost all so called "sport utility vehicles" on the road today.

all hail hatchbacks! all hail the cargo hauler accent! :D

A 32 inch Toshiba CRT Tube Television. NOT a flat panel LCD or Plasma, etc. but one of them dinasaurs!

That is one heavy mother (148 lbs.) and it was hard getting it in and out of the Accent but we did it. Almost didn't make it because of the height of the set.

With the 4-door I'm severely limited compared to youse guys with the 3-door but I can still cram tons of stuff in the trunk. It has a nice sized trunk, but the opening is tiny so it takes a bit of work to get stuff in and out of there sometimes.

I have no great stories, really... The biggest single thing I've moved thus far would be an exercise bike we bought (still in the box, mind you.) I've hauled all kinds of smaller things - boxes, plastic containers, etc especially when I was moving last year. One time I even drove it to the landfill to get rid of some old junk, went down a long dirt/gravel road then backed the little Hyundai through some mud and various bits of garbage to get to the trash pile. That was a sight to see, a little Hyundai sitting in front of a mountain of trash. Everybody else had a big ol' truck, and here I was in the Accent. lmao!

i never put stuff in the trunk because it always slams against the sides of it =( but i fit 3 of my friends in the seats on multiple occasians and comfortably, most hatches dont have any leg room in the back i.e. mitsubishi eclipse i got a bad bruise from sitting in the back of my friends for too long the other day =/

Oh yea, I forgot. When I worked at Pepboys I had to go pick up my friend's tires from AMPAC Tires. I put 4 35" BFG Mud Terrains in the thing. Granted I was a little smashed, but they fit. How I dont know.

I've fit an enormous disk chair (cushion and frame were in two seperate boxes). Both boxes were as long as that 50" tv. I only had to fold down one back seat and had my friend in the back at the same time.

Another note: There was a guy who asked me, when I first got Jack, "How many clowns can you fit in there?" I told him,"Well, I've gotten 4 people and me in there so far." He just looked at me funny.

I love the space in this car!

i've carried over 1500ft of extension cord, a 9 foot long 1 foot wide box that i had to balance on the passenger mirror, about 5 duffel bags full of stuff, 4 hardshell narrow boxes, and a huge bag with 5 metal light stands and a 6 foot long pole..
i was crazy close to the steering wheel, and the passenger seat was folded flat.. to boot, i drove about 20 km on a slow moving highway.
.. friends and family were both amazed at it's station wagon-esq qualities with the seats in 'haul' mode.
