Drives: 1995 HYUNDAI SONATA GL
The auto transmission is locked and won't shift. I (ahem) forced it once to get it out of the way and it did go into drive. Shut the car off and started it again but no go. I hate to force it again.

Any ideas here? Is it just gone out?

Not sure if you've tried it yet but on my 95 Sonata there's a "Transmission Lock" 'button' above the stick and if you flick the top of it up and stick in a pencil it should release it.

Drives: 2000 Hyundai Sonata 2.5L V6
Is it stuck in certain gear? I had the same issue with my 2000 Sonata but it was stuck in 5th gear it won;t ever shift, it was a sensor.
