I know my owners manual says they Reccomend Quaker State oil. which im sure they prob. bought there way in. b/c everone Ive talked to says quaker state oil is terriable I here this all time working in the lube service busness. Im a big fan of syntheic oils so I think im going to run Royal Purple 5w-30 In my accent. I want te get as many years and miles possable out of it

Welcome to the forum but I would suggest doing a search on this subject. It's been discussed many times. (Too many times). Personally I use Mobil1 but any quality synethetic will be good. However, I would suggest sticking with the OEM filter from Hyundai. The only aftermarket filters I would use are Purolator or Wix.

I agree.

Mobil 1 or other synthetic. 5w-20.

And, I also use the OEM filter, and new crush washer on drain plug. And, I keep my Hyundai receipts for the filters as well.

Would a K&N filter be a good choice or would the gen. hyundai filter be the best choice
or maybe even a mobile filter
I do like mobile 1 so i might just use it or quaker state Q horsepower

The K&N filter is nothing but a Mobil1 filter with a nut welded to the top. They are made by the same company but the K&N usually costs more. They are good filters but to be honest, the Hyundai OEM filter is excellent and is probably cheaper than both.

The two top rated synthetics out there today are Royal Purple and Amsoil. Not sure if RP makes filters but Amsoil does. Also you'l save money because of the extened drain intervals.

Komptek is an Amsoil dealer so his opinion might not be the most unbiased.

Untrue, I base all my information on facts, as for me being a dealer that is based on I would only sell a great product not an OK product. I did mention Royal Purple which I don't sell nor use. But Asmoil is the only Oil I know of that gives you true extend drain intervals of a good amount, up too 45,000 miles, 25,000miles on the filters. Don't know of another company that does that.

With all due respect, your opinion in this area is a conflict of interest. I'm not saying Amsoil isn't a quality oil (because it is); I'm just saying that you claiming it's the best is not the most unbiased opinion because you are in business to sell Amsoil. That's all.

Conflict of Interest
Definition: Situation that has the potential to undermine the impartiality of a person because of the possibility of a clash between the person's self-interest and professional-interest or public-interest.

And going 45,000 miles on any oil or 25,000 on any filter is just not good advice.
