I just recently got my 93 S Coupe turbo running again and decide to put in a bored out throttle body. as soon as I changed it the rpm shot up to 2k. I know it's getting more air now but it used to idle at 1k. I then added a fuel pressure regulator figuring I needed more fuel with the more air I added. but no change. any ideas?

You could try adjusting the idle rpm with turning the adjusting screw on the throttlebody. Above the gascable.

there is actually slack in the gas cable. could it have something to do with the fact that this is a right driver TB but on my left driver car? the cable reaches fine and I still get wide open throttle.

does anybody know if there is a different sensor on over seas TB's?

Any help before I go spending money on things that might not work?

Drives: Modified (180 b.h.p.) `95 Hyundai S-Coupe Turbo SE ....Sadly now sold & replaced with an `04 Alfa Romeo 156 2-litre Veloce! :-http://aol.photobox.co.uk/album/thumbnails.html?c_album=7089276&page=all

An idle speed which rises & falls.....especially at traffic lights when the engine is fully-warm.....is nearly always due to a faulty TPS (throttle position sensor).

If I remember correctly, on the standard car there is an adjustment screw which opens the throttle butterfly disc a crack to set the revs..
This may be missing on your bored-out throttle body, leaving you no choice other than to make the adjustment by means of the throttle cable adjuster.

If you have high steady revs. when the butterfly is fully closed, then either the disc does not fully block the new throttle body, or there is a fault or split hose on the idle control actuator.

Nick. :)
