Hi all great forum, quick question form a newbie, having owned a santa fe for 3 years i recommended to hyundai to my uncle and he bought a brand new tucson 2.2 diesel special edition 2 months ago.

Since delivery he has had a slight hesitation when going though the gears accelerating, bit like blip on the throttle, its been in 3 times now and they still have not fixed it.

Even worse when towing a caravan and mroe ppower needed.

anyone else heard of this / give me any pointers as i feel guilty after the recommendation.

Eskilation....

Hi and :00000732: to the forum
There has been alot on this and other sites about better torque and low down power and if you go to the Search box at the top of the page and type in Powerbox you will then be able to read most of what we have written regarding this.
Gareth R has one on his Sante Fe
I have one on my Tucson Limited and there are others who have also purchased one and we have found that it does away with the hesitation and helps tremendously when towing caravans.
I don't think that the dealer will be able to lose the hesitation at all it seems to be built in to the Hyundai common rail diesel and seems to effect every vehicle in the range. (I have just answered a similar request to yours on the Hyundai Owners Club of Great Britain website http://www.hyundaiownersclub.co.uk and the guy had a 1.3 diesel Getz)
Now just :right: and get a Powerbox (after you have read about them)

Cheers

PS if he lives anywhere near me he can come and try it out-Sandhurst near J4 of the M3.
