QUOTE(tjaliwalpa @ May 2 2008, 07:34 PM) For those of you who have not yet been successful in obtaining a 2nd remote fob, I have included a photo. Cool I30 keyrings mate - where did you get them from?

Following Bob's post of success, I called my dealership YET AGAIN and simply asked "You got my spare fob yet?". That was 2 hours ago.
He's just called me back following a call he had with head office in which was stated that Hyundai UK Ltd had a policy from Nov 2007 to April 2008 which issued a single fob with all newly registered vehicles. The cost of supplying a 2nd fob will not be borne by Hyundai UK Ltd under grace or warranty.
Well sorry Bob but I do get angry and I did this time. I said I was returning the spare loose key as "not fit for purpose" under UK law, seeing as it triggers the alarm when used. I also said that when I bring the i30 in for service or repair, that I would not be leaving my remote fob with them, seeing as it's the only one I possess, and that they could struggle with the single fobless spare.
He then said he would leave an email message with the warrantors expressing his customers dissatisfaction with the whole affair, and would quote what I said that "I would not purchase another Hyundai under any circumstances, nor recommend the marque to any potential customer".
Dazz, that list might be useful (even for shambles) as I intend to bypass my dealership and go higher up into Hyundai UK Ltd. I think a separate thread might be useful. I might even be tempted to include, in the pdf, those dealerships who are either (a) unwilling or (b ) unable to obtain a spare fob for their customers.
Thanks

QUOTE(Shambles @ May 8 2008, 02:03 PM) £230 fully reprogrammed with a flip key.
Use registered post as I'm doing. Make them sign for it.
I've asked him to elucidate the apparent difference between aftersales policies, between northern and southern hemispheres. Also asked why punish early takeups, when the same takeups have had the car from early on and probably helped sales of the i30.
Shambles, i would give you my spare key fob if it would work for you m8. I think the problem is the internet m8, before the internet you would never have known about a guy in Australia getting two key fob's, Dazzler would not have known. we all would have been happy customers with one key fob. :) blame the internet! ps mate i have named my little i30 CRDi the Silver Noodle Blast, how's that? cheers Shamble's just a thought, out here in Australia, i think 08 is the Sorry year, everyone seems to be getting up on the band wagon to say sorry, the next one up is the Pope. if it keeps up you will have Mr Hyundai up on the band wagon to say sorry Mr Shambles for only giving you one Key Fob :right:  cheers mate

You can find them 5 miles south of Manchester  QUOTE I think the problem is the internet m8, before the internet you would never have known about a guy in Australia getting two key fob's, Dazzler would not have known. we all would have been happy customers with one key fob. :) blame the internet! Possibly, although I queried it at delivery time. But you do have a very valid point. QUOTE ps mate i have named my little i30 CRDi the Silver Noodle Blast, how's that? Sounds Chinese, but if it works for you... QUOTE Shamble's just a thought, out here in Australia, i think 08 is the Sorry year Yeah I reckon you're right. I'm more sorry I didn't win the UK National Lottery this week.

RESULT!
Got an automated text from my dealership, thanking me for booking my car in for today, at 11am.
Rang them to query this, and they said that Hyundai UK CS have instructed them, as a gesture of goodwill, to order and reprogram a second fob for me, free of charge, under a warranty token.
Eeeh I can join the triple-key owners soon
