I used it on my car today and now I'm looking for body shops!! I couldn't tell what it was doing when I was using it because it left behind just enough water that I couldn't see the scratches. But when I went back to wax, there were little hairline scratches all over my car.

I've used it before, and fresh out of the box it may be ok. But after that its trash!! I washed it via the directions, but something stayed in there!! I am so ****! THOROUGHLY!!

DON"T USE THE ABSORBER!!

You are doing something wrong. I've had mine for over 10 years with zero problems. It's been used on 7 different cars. It's a GREAT product.

Also, why did you post this 3 times. Mutliple posting is a violation of the rules:

3 times? Really? I only meant to post it twice...in two different areas. I wasn't sure which to put it in, so i decided to put it in both.

Tell me which ones to delete and I'll take care of it.

Did you have dried wax or debri on your applicator pad or the towel you were using to wax off? That may have caused it.

It's basically a synthetic drying chamois:

I've used the Absorber too for years, never had a problem at all.

I detail vehicles on the side (have done so for a long time) and my guess is that the problem lies in the following scenarios:

1). The Absorber has been dropped on the ground and picked up grit that's then been rubbed into the paint.

2). Someone's used the Absorber on a car that was dirty (aka they didn't wash it first) and like scenario #1, it's picked up grit and been rubbed into the paint.

3). The Absorber has been exposed to something that had grit near it (it's been set down on something like a bench, counter or something else) and, again, got grit into it.

The Absorber is safer than a towel or regular chamois because it's perfectly smooth and won't leave any residue behind. That being said, you should wash it out if it gets dirty (I wash mine after every time I use it). Hand wash it in something mild like Woolite or, if really dirty, machine wash it with woolite. Don't use dish detergent on it or anything like Tide, it's too strong to clean it. If you take care of your Absorber, yes, it should last for a long time.

Another hint... if you don't wash it, at least rinse it out under warm tap water and then really squeeze it out. This will keep the Absorber from getting mildew when you roll it back up to keep inside of the container (which it should be kept in).

I'm not accusing you of doing any of these scenarios, just saying that it's probably the case.

I've been using the absorber for 12 yaers now with out a hitch. We have one in each car and use them all the time. Sorry about the problem though. It is extremely important that the absorber be clean prior to use.
