Hi

I'm very happy with my i30 and its Audio equipment. The only thing I don't like is the default behaviour when playing mp3: the display shows the mp3 filename. You can access to other id3's tag details by pressing the Info button, but after a few it returns showing the filename.
I've heard on Kia cee'd there's a way to change the default display mode by the Setup menu, but I didn't find a similar option on i30. Anyone knows how to do it?

This annoyed me as well when I was connecting my mp3 player, I couldn't figure out how to change this either. With an iPod and the Hyundai iPod cable, the song name is displayed instead by default.

Haven't had enough experience with playing mp3 files from a flash drive or mp3 player in the i30 yet to offer any advice on whether the default can be changed.

I know that we always save our files as the title of the song when we rip mp3 files from CDs. Our PC does this anyway if we first allow Media Player to find the CD title and song titles on the Internet first.

Yes but, usually, the filename contains as the first 3 chars the song's order number + a separation char (otherwise, the Hi-Fi will play them in alphabetical order). Further, there's an annoying ".mp3" suffix. Both unuseful strings are stealing precious space on the display, that's why I would prefer to have the option to choose id3.

If/when you find out ganassa, please do let us know.

I did an experiment renaming an .mp3 file on my USB stick to remove the [as you mentioned] unuseful .mp3 suffix. The player did not recognise the file at all.

dont take of the file extension or the file wont play. Just name the file as close as posible to the song name.

My unit is [apparently] a PA710R, of which there is no mention on this intermiweb thing, other than a copy of the Audio Manual on a Hyundai website, in Korean.

I was searching to see if there were any hidden options that would allow the ID3 song title to replace the filename, and Album Title to replace the folder name. Even a firmware update would have been handy.
