I have spent the past year trying to figure out what GPS unit I wanted and how much I was willing to spend for exactly what I want. Finally after figuring out I wanted a TomTom I went to purchase one...with the intent of using a gift cert to help pay for it. At this electronics store I came across this Eclipse head unit with a portable TomTom.

Low and behold the gift card my mother recieved and gave to me was for an electronics store that is absolutely no where in the Midwest!!! I got to be the dork who went the register getting ready to pay...

So I gave my hopes up for a couple months, eventually admitting I really, really needed a different head unit. The stock one in my Sonata was not cutting it and I had already changed all the speakers to Pioneers I had in my previous cars.
Plus I drive around the Midwest a lot and absolutely hate getting lost on one ways and getting terrible directions from the dude at the gas station.

Two weeks ago I found this on Ebay for $395...about $150 cheaper than what they sell at stores. I looked at it this way: a reliable GPS unit costs minimum $250 and a really quality head unit I have previously owned cost minimum $300. Getting the combo evened out perfect. I love Ebay!

Needless to say...it is amazing. Really easy to install if you have the space for it.

The only modification we had to make was the bar that holds the original head unit up...it pushed the whole thing out over an inch! It looked gross for over a week. That was a fun beating...

Check it out!
