QUOTE(il06gt @ Mar 24 2008, 08:41 AM) I am starting to feel that I did not get the best deal...even though I am getting the car at invoice. Possibly, the dealer just needed to move some cars as it has been raining here for almost a week straight...
I offered invoice ($19,207) for this loaded Limited. It has everything (4 cyl) including sunroof etc.
I sort of chuckled at the "market adjustment" add on of $1450 and the usual pin striping and "fabric protector". I mentioned they might not want to put the fabric protector on a car with leather seats and he just laughed and replied, "those are not for all customers". Nice.
I feel that since I did not go through the back and forth that invoice may have not been a decent deal. Are there special incentives out there that the dealers get? Seems odd. Alo, I noticed they had 20+ cars from another dealer...including this one. They all have the wrong dealers logo on the back.
BUT, my wife loves the car...loves it. Picking it up the afternoon.
Hyundai build quality and fit/finish seem to get better literally each year...this 208 is amazing. We may have this car for quite some time.
I meant o ask if I made the wrong choice on the motor? Does the new I4 seem to be a pretty decent motor or should I have sprung for the 6? My wife doesnt do any drag racing and to be honest, the 4 seemed pretty peppy and she was happy...not to mention it save you money up front and every fill up. I am mainly concerned with longevity. If you purchased an '08 Sonata Limited for $19,207.00 did the price include a sunroof and taxes?

Sunroof & auto yes. Taxes no. I have to swing by the DMV later today...the other joy in my life.

The new, somewhat better 2.4 engine is assembled in the 2009 Sonata, not your 2008. But you have no reason to worry. If, while test-driving, you -- and especially your wife -- felt good the way the car accelerates, you'll be happy. The 2.4 is a powerful engine. And don't think twice about the price you paid.... It's a good deal, and a DONE deal, no reason to keep questioning... Enjoy your new car! Take your family for a nice trip next weekend. Just keep in mind you're still breaking it in.

QUOTE(californiadude99 @ Mar 24 2008, 06:56 PM) I was faced with the same decision when buying my car, except that to get the stuff I wanted I had to get the LX/Limited. Looking at the $1700 price difference, the V6 only costs you 1 or 2 MPG, with an extra 72 horsepower, I'd say was worth it to spring for the V6. Not including interest, that would've been an extra $28.33/mo if you financed for 5 years.
BUT... make sure most of all to ENJOY YOUR CAR!!! :)
I paid cash for the whole car...first time w have been able to do that and it felt good. Paying cash makes you notice things like the $1700 motor...so I opted for the 4. Could not be happier! We took a nice drive tonight and my wife is in love with the car. Money not being part of the decision, we would have bought the Accord...but it is and I could not see $6-7k difference between the cars. I likes the Sonata vs the Camry straight up and the Altima was a joke. So, we are now a two Hyundai family! Never saw that coming...

Here it is...awesome car, but I think I like my Elantra GT better! After spending the evening taking a long drive, I am stunned at the ride quality and the silent ride. To get any better than this, one needs to step way up in price and drive a luxury sedan. This car is truly a bargain.

QUOTE(il06gt @ Mar 24 2008, 01:50 AM) Geeez...I absolutely hate buying new cars. I just paid my wife's minivan off a few weeks ago and she tells me she now wants a car! She works with all young gals and they call her "the van lady" which she seems to be struggling with.

haha..i used to work with a lady who drove a caravan and we used to call her van lady..LOL. i called her ninja turtle van lady cuz it was the hideous green one! the car does not make the woman though! If we are judging people by the car they drive...i should be in a CLS 500... tyvm

I agree that the Limited I-4 is a bargain. Who would of thought that Hyundai was capable of such high quality.
