I have posted the pics I took at the NY Auto show, but to my disappointment, there was no floor model of the Genesis sedan to climb into.

I just didn't get it. There was a lot of excitement about the 2010 genesis coupe but you would think that Hyundai would use the NY Auto show to promote and display with great enthusiam the upcoming sedan. I ask the rep there why there wasn't a floor model and she said that they were limited in space, mind you they had a display coupe and a floor coupe, but you couldn't climb into it. She said that they were limited in space. She also said that she didn't know why there was no floor model because they had them at the Detroit and Chicago auto shows.

You spend millions of dollars to show the superbowl commercials but when the NY auto show comes around and a chance to really show the production model of the sedan that is due out this summer, you don't. Instead you floor display a coupe that is not due to be out till next summer, and no one can climb into it.

I think that this was a major missed opportunity for Hyundai and that marketing is something that they really need to think about. I can tell you that some people were turned off because when the rep started her speech, people were turning away and walking away. I heard people there, like me, that were at the Philly show and hoped to see a floor model there.

Anyway, I took pics of this silver one to give people an idea of what the silver looks like.

My mouth is watering! I do want to get a look at the coupe also. I am definitely keeping my Azera but can envision trading in my Sonata for the coupe. 2 years old and only 8,000 miles.

Yeah, thanks for the cool pics - nice to see something other than the burgundy one. I'm thinking grey or - the enthusiast's maintenance nightmare - BLACK for mine. I promise myself I'm going to put at least 5000 miles on Thor before I look at Genesis... that should only take another 2 years or so!

First, thanks for the great pictures. However, I have to disagree about floor models. Very few (if any) manufacturers will allow you to sit in their newest models before they are officially released. The ZR1 Corvette is new but could you sit in one? No. The Pontiac G8 is new but you couldn't sit in one of those either. Both will be on sale this year. Thos are just 2 examples.

....um, you are definitely able to sit in the G8 that is there. The only G8 you could NOT sit in, was the G8 GXP.

Sorry, that's what I meant, the G8 GXP top model. Just like you could sit in a regular Corvette and even a Z06 but not a ZR1.
