Hi guys my excel is pissing me off now. The leather boot around the manual shifter keeps slipping down and showing the rusty old selector. If anyone else has the manual tranny with the leather (ahem!) gear boot, has anyone been able to fix it? I tried araldite but it melted and my lever is all sticky. Can anyone keep it up? :w00t:

hi,

I made a new gear boot for my 93, and i just got some dense foam and cut a few circles out, cut a small hole in the middle, and put it on the shaft, (inside the boot of course) if you don't cut the hole in the middle too big it will stay in place, i think i used 3 circles. hope that helped you,

timbo
