Hi Eevryone.... I am desperately in need of your technical support (Help)

I have a dell inspiron wich i bought in 2006.. i wanted to remove windows vista and install windows xp on it (I hate Vista)

As i was reformatting it at a friends place someone pressed the power button and turned it off (Idiot) the reformatting process was at 91 percent...

Anyways I turned it back on and all i get is a black screen saying error loading system file or something like that and it will not go into the boot meny or bios menu....

Is my laptop destroyed ?????
the dell splash menu comes on when i turn it on
I try and press f12 but it doesn't work :(

What can I do ...
Please help me

I desperately need help on this one...

ThanK you so much to anyone out there who can help me...

Just boot back off the XP cd and go back through the install process. You can probably reuse the partition you already created then just tell it to reformat. You didn't screw anything up unless XP or the BIOS can no longer see the HDD.

Congrats on the "upgrade". You will be fine by going through the XP installation again , although I wouldn't use the same partition. It might try to repair the corrupted files on the partition but you'd be better off reformatting it. If you plan on using the Media Direct feature you'll want to partition the drive with that first otherwise it will not work. Good luck

Ha, the Dell MediaDirect feature revived a dead Laptop.

Recently I spilled a can of Sprite in my new $1000 Dell Inspiron E1505.

After a few tries to reboot, the system said "Hardware failure, see Vendor.

Somehow MediaDirect was able to get it to boot back up. True story!.
