Hi,

I have a 2006 Azera Limited with the ultimate package and has around 21k miles. Around 17k miles, I started to noticed that there was a slight shifting (maybe 1/8") of the driver seat when the car came to a stop. The movement is forward on stops and occasionally backward on moderate acceleration forward. I am a fairly gentle driver as I don't slam on brakes or accelerate quickly from a stopped position. Initially, it would occur occassionally, but now it is happening very frequently. It is very annoying since this movement of the seat can be felt, however small it is.

Has anyone experienced this issue? When I took the Azera for service to the dealer, of course they did not detect anything wrong with the seat, but that was around 18k miles.

Thanks :liebe011: ,
David

David,

I have been following the Azera and Santa Fe forums for almost a year. Haven't heard of that problem yet..

I know it is not a problem with my Azera and I am one of the most fussy people alive when it comes to automobiles.

Welcome to the forum.

Check the nuts on the floor tracks. Sounds like they are loose or the track guides are not square so both sides aren' setting in their respective notches.
Never heard of this either. Well, not on a Hyundai but on a Ford and Chevy.

I have sometimes felt a slight slip of the seat when coming to a stop. It doesn't happen very often but every once in a while it seems to slip a little but I haven't noticed any difference in leg room so I think it returns to the original position.

Take it to the dealer for warranty work. If the adjusting mechanism is coming loose, you might wind up with a seat that goes full back or full forward on accelleration and breaking, a definite safety hazard...
