One day I was fiddling with the temp controls on my 08 Elantra Sport and ever since then, every time I turn my car on, my AC automatically turns on.

It drives me nuts! Anyone know how to de-program this? :)

In the U.S. Elantras only come with manual climate control. Do you have automatic controls?

No, I have manual controls. None of the settings are on defrost. The A/C light comes on when I turn my car on. :|

I have an 07 Accent.
You can control whether or not the ac comes on in the defrost modes .Not sure if you can control overall, but worth a try.
1st turn setting to defrost,2nd push ac putton on and off 3 times ,3rd if the light is now off you should be fine , if it is on push to shut off. This should fix the problem. :)

I got the Digital Automatic A/C control panel... I have to say, it is great, easy to use, so far it has never fail...

I dont want to stole this post, but just a quick question... I know that in a normal car you use to turn de A/C off before turn of the engine... well my wife almost always stop the engine before turning of the A/C and then when you start the engiene back on again the A/C turn on itself, can it be harmful to the engine or the A/C system?

You should worry only if u have almost dead battery with one shot left for ignition or in low temperatures when battery output is reduced.

thanks... I was thinking that maybe the clutch of the A/C will stay powered even with the engine off or something like that ... i dont know...
