Howdy! First post on here, but hope I can Help! I actually had a very similar problem to this, where my tiburon would shake terribly unless I pushed in the clutch and revved it up, then it would be okay until I idled at a stop sign or something. I did some poking around and found that it was actually a bad spark plug! It had been installed improperly by the previous owner and had actually charcoaled the spark plug wire. I ended up replacing the wires and all four spark plugs, just to be safe. So, check your plugs man! Good luck!

QUOTE(stealth @ Mar 11 2008, 08:57 PM) ok i have an 00 tiburon and all winter so far when i'm idling it starts shaking fairly badly my belt seems to be worn pretty good but im not sure if this is the problem or not so if anyone knows what this could possibly be that would be great, the steering wheel and car just seems to shake while idling but not while reving or driving thanks ++ i was having the same shakey problem. I changed the plugs and it all but went away, the rest is just normal. ^_^

Dear Stealth,
Your car is a 2000, and you are likely coming up on 120,000 miles. You said your belts are worn. Can you remove the timing belt cover and check the timing belt wear? do you know when the belt was last replaced? Before the belt fails, teeth break off, your camshaft timing slips, the engine shakes. Beware that this is a warning of imminent timing belt failure.

Dear stealth,
If you have 84K miles on the car, can we assume that the timing belt was changed at 60K miles? Or do we call Guiness for the longest lasting timing belt?
I still go with my first diagnosis and repair...change your timing belt. When you get the timing cover off, you should see a badly worn belt with teeth missing. Oh, it will say Gates but still have Korean scribble in green ink on it. That is a sure sign that this belt is factory original.
