Is the map sensor supposed to be sealed completely when replaced? I changed mine to make the engine light go off and it did, the studdering and hesitation also stopped, but I didn't happen to notice if the other map sensor was leaky sounding or not. The car runs fine and there wasn't any sealant just an o ring which to me it should be sealed but the car is working fine and the engine light is not coming on. Can a specialist tell me what I should do exactly?
Ok its been a couple days and the leak is gone i guess the o ring finally seated itself. My problem is resolved for now so I will leave all I know about the MAP Sensors replacement on a 01 Elantra. It is located right on top of the throttle body or carburetion area 2 screws and a wire to unplug. The costof a MAP Sensor from the dealership is about $77.00 for the part and that is probably high but most of these parts stores don't carry much for the Hyundia. Changing the part was easy and it fixed the hesitation when taking off.
