QUOTE(The Bun-yip @ Mar 30 2008, 07:12 AM) Hi Lakes,
My information comes from www.michelin-green-meter.com You can get all the publically available information including press kits.there.
Michelin have been producing "Energy" tyres since 1992. The have just released a fourth generation technology. I think that they make them in more than one factory. So I could not guess where Tyres for Australia would be sourced.
The advantages seem to be produced by adding Silica to the mix and cutting back on the Carbon Black. Just enough to provide colour is used. It seems to result in a Lighter?? tyre that does not Heat up so much under load conditions.
Parked next to a new Citroen C2 today (sick ugly green) it was fitted with Mich Energy.
As for the tread pattern you can see for yourself in the image I have attached.
It might be a good idea to have a look at www.michelin-green-meter.com for your self. Then you can tell us what you think. I confess that I think Michelin are on to something.

Hey Bun-Yip, Thank's M8, that makes sence! the Tyre is lighter, if you can get a lighter wheel as well this would also help cut imission and fuel useage, as lighter Tyre Lighter wheel is rotating weight, the lighter weight will take less force to rotate and it will excellerate faster. I'm just wondering if i got 4 of the spare wheels and used, if i could get better economy as the spares come with 185 x 15" so less rubber contact, but some of these hi performance tyers are very light. Think what we could get useing carbon fiber wheels and disc rotors :) just the cost's would outweigh the saving's in fuel. Cheers ps thank's for telling us about the mich tyre's, i'll bet Hyundai will fit them standard in Britain so they can get imission down to the lower level and make the car even more attractive to buyer's there. But here in Australia at the moment there would be no advantage at all, but don't worry it's coming!!

QUOTE(jessi3 @ Apr 18 2008, 07:54 AM) Dad's car has arrived, so he'll be getting it very soon (which means I can steal it while I wait for mine) hehe. Dealer said it takes a couple of weeks after it docks to receive the car... what do they do in this time? He has only ordered cruise control so it shouldn't 1-2 weeks to fit that should it??
xx Jess
Hey Jessi it must be a twin sister to my baby! :) just cruise control too but i'm getting that Black Azz window tint, don't think cruise control would take long to fit few hours. i think mine hits home day before ANZAC day then they said about a week after i should have it, i just want both my keys with remote! no hollow promises from mr hyundai! :amen: Love that Quote Shambles! Also in todays Sydney Papers Hyundai are advertising that all new Hyundai's come with free ESP standard now so i'll have those add's with me! Cheers John

QUOTE(tjaliwalpa @ Apr 19 2008, 06:54 AM) John,
Saw the Hyundai ad. in the paper today. It is not all Hyundai models that come with free ESP and TCS. It is just a limited number of models, namely (and I quote) "Getz 1.6, Elantra SX or SLX and Tuscon City SX sold before 30th June 2008 - at Drive Away prices."
And there is also some fine print that excludes Govt., fleet and rental cars.
I said to my wife about it as we got a new Getz just before Xmas. She said she liked our free $1000 shopping voucher that we scored better than the ESP.

Hey Bob, i'll have to read the fine print, i saw how the picture and add on the i30 in that add had a boader around it, but in big writing the add has All new Hyundai models come with it now, but in the other Sydney paper and the day b4 paper the same add did not have the i30 in it so i'll look. they probably don't want to give the i30 away any cheaper as it is very cheap for what you get, specially the Diesel. ps, girls are always more practical!

3 months is a ridiculous amount of time to wait, but it really depends on what options you are after and the color that determines delivery time.
Ive never waited more than a week when it comes to purchasing any brand of car, the way I see it is, if a specific dealer doesnt have what Im after, theres always another who will have it in their stock elsewhere.
1st come 1st serve gets my money and my business and maybe repeat business if they do well in more than one respect.
You could ring around and ask if any dealer has the model, color, spec you are after on their premises, in their holding yard and you can get your accessories fitted after the car goes in for its 1st service.
Really depends how quickly you need the car, if you are waiting for 3 months, doesnt seem like you are in a rush, so they are making the most of your deposit, which I think is a rort, fair enough if its an interest bearing account, but for a car? Get real.
