I just bought a 2007 Entourage that didn't come with a DVD player....so I payed for the dealer to install one.

OMG -- I just paid big bucks to have an FM-transmitter installed -- it sounds terrible. Did those of you who bought the van's with the dvd player have an fm-transmitter?

The factory system connects directly to and plays through the Infinity stereo system - no fm transmitter.

Just disconnect it - everyone always listens to the DVD through the wireless headphones anyway = assuming the dealer aftermarket DVD came with them.

Not to mention the general lack of oompf from the base audio system. Yes the system is somewhat weak however the kids are OK with it and that is what I got it for. I think part of the reason may also be the distance/angle to the antenna on the rear side window.

I have not been able to use any type of FM transmitter in the van. It sounds like crap on any station location picked.

I think it has to do with the antenna type/location...

The factory DVD doesn't use the FM transmitter.
