Steve,

Removing the dash is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Here is a step-by-step. You'll need a short Phillips head screwdriver and that's all.

1. Remove the ashtray by pushing down on the release tab at the top.

(IMG:http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/lovemysantafe/DashButtonLightReplacement001.jpg)

2. Behind it you will see two screws; remove them and put them in a cupholder to keep them from rolling away.

(IMG:http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/lovemysantafe/DashButtonLightReplacement002.jpg)

3. Grab the bottom part of the dash with both hands and give it a firm tug. If it's the first time being pulled out, it will resist.

(IMG:http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/lovemysantafe/DashButtonLightReplacement004.jpg)

4. One side will likely pop out before the other. You can't have it out too far otherwise the other side can't pop free.

(IMG:http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/lovemysantafe/DashButtonLightReplacement005.jpg)

5. Once you get both sides pulled free look behind the climate fascia and you will see four screws holding the climate control in place. Undo those screws and put them aside in a different cup holder. Remove the old one after unplugging it at the rear. Reverse to fit the new one.

Good luck.

Not a problem. Happy to help. I've taken my Santa apart in so many ways I'm amazed it doesn't rattle. :whistling:

- Removed/reinstalled center stack (probably 10 times)
- Removed/reinstalled gauge cluster (at least thrice)
- Removed/reinstalled all four door panels (driver one at least three times; it's beginning to get fussy)
- Partially removed both front seats to clean behind them.
- Installed cabin air filter (involved taking the glovebox out)
- Removed both headlights and the engine cover God only knows how many times.

And this weekend I'm going one more; replacing the leather wheel so we get to remove and reinstall the steering wheel and airbag. It's gonna be so much fun!

It's simply a matter of finding the wiring harness of the fog light switch and grounding the proper one so the lights are grounded whenever the exterior lights are on. Since I haven't seen an '05-'06 wiring harness, I couldn't tell you if they are the same or not.

Grampy

I even did a search for this stuff....

:banana:Yahoo! it worked just like he said! Replaced a $19 switch and saved $150 on a motor and resistor.
