I have an 05 Accent and want to replace the AM/FM/Cass. with a O.E. AM/FM/CD player. What years will fit an 05?
When removing the facia around the radio the cables for the heater contol keep it from coming off, where do you detach the cables at? Or, what is the proper way to remove the radio?
Thanks :)

To Remove the radio follow these steps.

Step 1: press cup holders to come out then remove two screws from face.

2. Under dashboard on drivers, (in some cases passenger side) there should be 1 grey lever one yellow and one black or white lever. Remove the cables using a flat head screw driver or your finger nail, the levers should pop out. Once levers are lose remove from guide plates until the cables are fully detached.

3. The centre dash face , pull from cup holders towards you until the unitl starts to come out then grab the sides and manouvre the face until the top clips become detached.

4. Once face is loose remove all switches eg, rear dimister, front fog, rear fog, hazard lights, then remove the aircon switch loom near heater controls.

5. Pull face out making sure not to allow the heating cables to scratch your dashboard.

6. Once face is full detached remove the four screws on you O.E stereo system and unplug the unit making sure not to remove the antena plug.

Quick note the hyundai system has an irregular wiring loom that can be fiddly to tap into. To put all back just follow the reverse. Also if you intend to fit a side bracket for you new system just make sure it sits flush with the dash board and away from the face as these brackets can't actually buckle the polyalloy dash face.

Good luck
