First of all let me say, this chrome did not cost me a cent. I took this off of my refirigerator a few years ago when it started coming off on its own. Yes, I said refrigerator. Amana to be exact. :)

It is made of the exact same material as our OEM trim. The only cost I have in it is the 3M double sided tape and about one hour of work.

By the way, I really like the aftermarket chrome that is available for the door posts but this was much cheaper, and of course much narrower.

It took an hour to put it on and will only take 20 minutes to remove it so fire away.

Ladies and gentlemen, STaaaaaaaaaaaart your opinions.

I can take it.

Sorry but I'd invest those 20 minutes. Then again, I am really not a big fan of chrome.

Looks like you did a good job, but I don't like the chrome trim on the car. The rear quarter looks factory. The wider after market part for the center post would look better.
It's your car do what you like. :57:

Okay, so far two out of two don't like it. At least I'm batting 1,000. From the bull pen, that is. :)

Like I said, I can take it. Bring it on.

I have mixed emotions, but think your efforts would appeal more if your wheels were chromed too. Do you have enough Amana to do that?

Noticed too it looks like you debadged the trunk lid. (I removed Hyundai and repleaced it with S380). Also noticed your mud guards, which I didn't do.

Thanks for posting the photos. Happy survey.

I agree with Oman when he says "The wider after market part for the center post would look better." I have the after market ones on my Azera and I am happy as a clam with them. I think it give a nice unique look to the car and it is different than the normal boring black posts. I was very apprehensive at first but now that it is on the car, I really like it. Also, it is not very difficult to remove it if you ever need to.

Sorry man...just not feelin it. I actually did consider the aftermarket pieces for my car (the wider ones for the b & c posts) but reconsidered after seeing it on a few cars. My opinion was that it just seemed like too much chrome, but then again that's just my opinion. It looks like you did a nice job though so if you like it, to **** with what everyone else thinks.

I think it would probably look better with the limited's 17" wheels. The 5 spoke non-chrome / non-polished don't really do it for me with the extra chrome.

I like 'em! The subdued look (as opposed to the overly-bling look of fully-chromed posts) adds just that right smidgen of quality...

I'm afraid I am all out of Amana. :)

Of course I could go buy another refrigerator.

Do you mean chromed wheels or chrome wheel well openings trim?

I would love a nice set of chrome wheels. It's too bad Hyundai chose to save a few bucks by not offering them.

Unfortunately, they are not in my budget right now. Perhaps when new tires are required I will get the whole package. I would also love to have a set of chromes for my Santa Fe.

Although, by then, I may own a Genesis. :460: (wishful thinking)

They look OK. I went with the wide ones. Two of the pieces, after two years, have a dimple in them. It really shows. Probably caused by rock chips or someone opening a door into them. Your narrow ones wouldn't show minor contact. Just wondering. Would this mean you wouldn't have to use the airconditioner as much?

The fridge compressor is still in the trunk. Haven't hooked it up to the pillar posts yet. :P

I know that the wide chrome pillar covers come in both stainless steel and plastic. The stainless covers are quite expensive but perhaps the plastic pieces, which are cheaper, would stand up better to minor dings.

Are yours stainless?

Sorry to hear about the dimples. Yes, you are right that they would show every flaw due to the large, flat, polished areas. I hadn't thought of that.

Not terrible, not great - I DO like a lot of chrome but I think the doors have about as much chrome as they will gracefully take with this design. You did a good job though - I mean, if you like it, it certainly doesn't look BAD. Someone else said: the rear quarter does look pretty good, looks factory.

They're stainless. They seemed so substantial when I put them on. I had a Jag VDP for 17 years with chrome posts. Narry a scratch.
