Hi All
I have been hearing a noise coming from timing belt area . I assumed It is one of the pulleys there , that includes the generator, AC , and all Timing belt pulleys . To single out the faulty one I removed the drive Belt and the generator belt , but the noise was there . I knew it is serious And the inevitable must happen , which is checking the timing belt Pulleys . so I lifted the engine and moved the engine hanger and covers . I removed the tensioners and the pulleys and the timing belt . All Pulleys tested O.K . so I installed all timing parts and operated engine The sound was still there and comes from the tensioner B area . so I Figured it must be a pulley behind that tensioner , which is the front right Counter balance shaft pulley of the oil pump . Can the tensioner B test ok By hand and make such a loud noise under load ??? . The trajet shares its engine with sonata , optima ,santafe . If any of the Dear forumers can tell me how serious it is to have the pulley of the Oil pump ( right counter balance shaft ) making noise . This pulley Gets lubricated by the engine oil , so what might cause the damage For what seems to be a will protected part .
I appreciate the help of any body have experience with such a thing .
Regards
