So. Two days and counting until I pick up a new i30 CDRi Premium :57:

But all I have to look at so far is the sales brochure.

There's a teasing picture showing some parts of the Premium display, which sort of suggest that some interesting info appears, possibly while driving.

Does anyone know what can show on this display? Is it MPH? MPG?

Also, where's the fuel filler cover release located.

Hi,

Will be picking up our i30 on the 7th Mar. Saw your post yesterday and although I have taken a test drive, I didn't think I had enough knowledge to give you any reliable information.

Be patient,

Bob

I have my motor now

The display is multifunctional.

On the way back from the dealership it was indicating that it had been 14 miles since the last fuel visit. I played with the button marked "trip" and the display kept changing, showing distance remaining, average consumption and actual trip mileage since reset.

With no engine running it showed a graphic of the car with the drivers door open (which it was)

Total mileage shows at the bottom of the display.

Fuel filler switch is on the floor near the drivers door BTW.

What a fantastic ride this car is. :)

Sounds great. Can't wait to pick up ours in 3 days. The days are going so slow.

I wonder how accurate the fuel economy and distance to empty are. I tried to get the onboard trip computer figures to come up on the vehicle we raod tested, but the economy did not show anything at all. I assume it will not show an figures until you have covered a minimum distance. Am I right?

I noticed that there is a seat belt warning system. How does this work and what seats does it operate with?

Compared to the Getz we own, this Hyundai will have so many gadgets to play with it will keep me occupied for weeks learning all the new features I can play with.

Shambles, I'm envious, but only for a few more days.

 Cheers

tjaliwalpa it will be worth the wait, trust me.

The seatbelt warning system on mine detects a seat in use (I believe 15kg is the trigger, so I was told) and illuminates the corresponding seat on the display in red if no belt is fastened at that position (the display has pictures showing 4 seats, in green).

Not too sure how accurate the distance-to-go is. Last night I filled it (it took 49 litres, gulp!) and reset the trip, mpg, avge mph etc. The distance-to-go showed as 375 miles, which now - after a 42 mile drive to work - shows 330. I presume the fuel level will have to fall a little lower for a more accurate reading to be taken, as I expect to get around 500 miles from a tankful.

The mpg figure actually changed from "--" to 56mpg after around half a mile travelling.

Happy waiting! I'm off outside now for a play under the bonnet
