If anybody has run a wire for an amplifier to the rear cargo area I would greatly appreciate if they could tell me how they ran it. That way I don't have to rip the whole car apart if someone already found a good way to run it.

Also I am looking to change the speakers, thinking MB Quart 6 1/2" Components. Was wondering if anybody has measured the stock tweeters and what the best way to mount the woofer in since its smaller than the stock one. I read about some adapters for the speakers but it seems like people are having mixed results.

Thanks

Well if anybody cares the factory tweeter is almost the same size as a 3/4" tweeter, so if you are getting components get 3/4" tweeters. Do not get the 1" tweeters unless you want to make a bigger hole for them.

Wow I cannot believe that nobody has replied to this. Does anybody have an after market amplifier?

I would think that somebody would of installed one since this car has been around for over a year.

Is there any more active forums dedicated to the 07 / 08 Santa Fe?

I have a amp running the sub-box off my Clarion 675 maxII. I didn't do the install, but the amp is located under the front passenger seat. Sirius reciever box is on floor under center console by firewall. waiting to get the rear camera put it. The power box is in for it already, they just didn't have time.

I have thought about new speakers and an amp for the speakers, just haven't made the decision yet. As I have the 5 seater, I had always thought the storage area under the rear cargo floor would have been nice to mount amps, but not sure about colling when in there. Would be nicely out of site,

Can you see how they ran the power cable for your amp, did they drill through the firewall?

Also is the sub box mounted to the floor in the rear? I am thinking of making a custom mounting plate that locks into the child safety locks on the back of the rear seats, that way I won't have to worry about removing screws when I want the cargo space.

I installed my system. I drilled a hole in the firewall, and used a grommet to insulate the wire. The power and remote wire are ran an the passenger side of the car and the RCA's are run on the driver side both of my amps and my capacitor are in the storage compartment. if you have any more questions let me know I think i might have some pics if your interested. One more thing, I bought a ten dollar universal SUV rubber mat from pep boys and my sub box does not move.

I did not change the factory speakers. I have a 50 x 4 amp on the factory speakers and they sound great. I have a high pass filter set on my radio to keep the bass out of the in door speakers.

It may prevent it from sliding around, but in the event of an accident that heavy sub box will turn into a projectile that's aimed for someones head. I strongly suggest finding a way to mount it somehow. SUV's are prone to this issue, and it's been discussed on other forums.

If you do actually make a mount for the child locks do you mind putting a picture online of that? That would be interesting to see. I have also seen others use a strap and tying it down that way as well.
