my 06 sonata with the 3.3 like yours did the same thing when i bought it. i had to power brake it to get it to the dealer because it was bucking and almost dying at idle when i took it on a 45 minute drive, but no check engine light ever came on. they said it was the o2 sensors. they replaced 2 o2 sensors and knock on wood 2 yrs later and smooth as silk.
