I know this is an old thread, but in case you hadn't found a solution yet I thought I'd reply.
It looks like the cable you found on amazon is just an audio cable that plugs in via the ipod's usb/charger/etc jack (3.5mm) vs the ipod's 'headphone jack'. I use a 1/8" to 1/8" stereo audio cable, and it works fine... and cost about $3. Plus it will work with any device with a headphone jack.
That being said, I'm now looking into replacing the stereo with a Hyundai Kenwood model that offers full ipod integration in the stereo, including track names. But that's like $500 away haha.
