Hello,
I just bought a 05 tiburon gt se and i was wodnering if the car have keyless entry, so if i was to buy a remote it would actually turn something on and off. So is the alarm system stock and i just didnt get the remote when i bought it, or does it need to be installed?

All 2003-up Tiburons have keyless entry. The only way to arm the alarm is with the remote. If you didn't get 2 remotes when you bought the car, go back to the dealer and demand them.

I just got a 2003 Tib. It was not provided with a key phob. I can purchase one from KeylessRide.com but I can't tell if there is a feature to open the hatchback with the phob. Does anyone know?

The keyless entry does not control the hatch just the side doorlocks and anti-theft alarm . The lites will flash when the alarm is set . The fob has to be programmed by the dealer to interface with the bcm (body control module) . I don't think US spec Tibs have the engine immobilizer feature .

Thanks for the information. Going with a multifunction aftermarket alarm system that is self installed is cheaper than buying two key phobs plus I will get the hatch feature as well. Does anybody have any knowlege of aftermarket compatibility issues with the unused factory system?

Most of the installs of aftermarket alarms/RKEs I have seen have been total junk and I could not rely on them to operate when needed every time.

I actually put a Viper 350HV system in my 2003 Tib a year ago and it works great! Just don't use your factory remote with the viper remote..it wont work that way. Once you put in the aftermarket alarm you ditch the factory remote. The new system will take care of keyless entry and alarm.

I mean $230 for the system WITH install? That's a great deal right there. I would definitely recommend an aftermarket setup.

Good luck

I've got a Commander 7000+ on my car, it works really well. Remote start, keyless entry, opens the hatch. It is way better than the stock system.
