08 auto ES

I just noticed that there are no courtesy lights (not the dome, but on the door) coming on when I open my driver and passenger doors. There are red reflectors at the bottom of the doors. Are they suppose to light up? They do on my Santa Fe.

No, they're just reflectors. Hyundai cheapened out on this and the quality of the interior plastics in the new elantras to accommodate for the size increase. Also, the gas cap is plastic rather than metal like it used to be.

Do you happen to know if there is a 12v line in the door that powers up when the door is opened. I really want to put some lights in there.

You are right about that interior plastic. :blink:
