this is difficult to tell without diagnostic equipment, however the most likely causes are the gearbox input and/or output speed sensors and also possibly the throttle position sensor. have you had the engine check light come on?

BTW welcome to the forums :00000732:

it needs to go on a diagonstic test at your dealer to determine the exact cause, but as l said in my previous post it's likely to be the sensors

hi omkar,

it looks like you have a speed sensor issue, it's the same thing with my 2000 trajet, if your engine is a 2.7 ltr. V6, it is adviseable you go to a reputable dealer, (hyundai), they will do a diagnostics to your grandeur and it will give you the result whether it is the speed sensor (input or output), or other sensors not working properly. my trajet gets stuck on third and they found out that the input speed sensor was the fault. don't go to paramatta hyundai, they are the worst rip-offs of all dealers. :w00t: they have no idea what they are talking about...
by the way, i'm in sydney too, (west).
