The service manager told me that it would 100% void the warranty. Is this true? I don't see why it could and he was explaining how it's altering the specs of the car.

I then explained i added different rims and tires, and that it changed some specs off the car, yet is doesn't void my warranty. He said thats different..

BTW-- Click Here to vote for my beautiful Ragdoll kitty.. Win me a vacuum! LOL this is my fav picture of him.. I want to win the new pet eraser vacuum..

Ask him for that in writing, because it's complete B.S. Lowering your car doesn't void any warranty. As him to put in writing the extact warranty he believes it voids.

i thought it was BS, but he was so serious and looked as if he didn't even need to second guess it.

Thanks!

When you modify a car, they can only void the warranty on parts that were affected by a modification, not the whole car... i.e. if you lower the car and the engine blows a head gasket, they can't deny you warranty coverage. If you lower the car and damage something with the suspension, then yes - they are probably within their rights to deny warranty coverage on the affected parts... If they can prove that your modifications were the cause of the failure.

It's been my experience that Hyundai dealers just looooove to throw the 'V' word around anyway. They're quick to threaten voiding your warranty over practically anything. One dealer told me my warranty was in jeopardy if I don't do the extra services that they said my car needs that the maintenance schedule written by Hyundai doesn't even call for at the mileage I'm at!!!

I once had the store manager at a department store insist to me that a CD shouldn't be passed over the credit card scanner because it would be erased.

I told him he had no idea what he was talking about (much to the amusement of the cashier standing there) and waved it repeatedly over the scanner.

He told me in a that special, know-it-all manager voice they all seem to have that "he warned me..."

I can't see how... I was just at the dealership the other day, and they showed me a brochure from Hyundai Canada advertising lowering kits for the Tiburons and Accents. Why would they sell something that would void their warranty?
