Is it wast of time, to change the throttle body on my Scoupe Turbo ?
Its look very small, so the idea is to fit a bigger one to gain hp.

Have any one in here tried something like that, with luck ??

Using stock throttle body with 215hp/275nm power. Quite a waste of time but you'll get better response at least.

the stock TB is verry small.....this was the first I have changed... I use a TB from Elantra J2 1.6 l Engine, it dosent fit directly, but the modifications are easy to make...the bore is about 52mm...on the stock GT engine the response from the engine was appreciably better

left stock and right from elantra

I also use on my 1/4 mile project an TB from Nissan Sunny B12 but this dosen't look very well for a street car...

Drives: Modified (180 b.h.p.) `95 Hyundai S-Coupe Turbo SE ....Sadly now sold & replaced with an `04 Alfa Romeo 156 2-litre Veloce! :-http://aol.photobox.co.uk/album/thumbnails.html?c_album=7089276&page=all

Bretton Coghlan (Performance Styling Centre, Australia) reported that he had tried fitting a larger (Accent) throttle body to his Scoupe Turbo, but with disappointing results....as compared to the work involved.
The performance-gain was apparently only slight.

Whilst such work is normally VERY beneficial on normally-aspirated cars, remember that turbo-pressurisation does reduce the need for a big-bore throttle body!.

Nick.

Thanks for the answers, i think my scoupe makes about 170hp right now, with the modifications and 0,75 bar.
But the car has not bin testet on the dyno.

I tried to fit a larger throttle on my previus Ford RsT, but its hard too feel the difference. But it was born with af 55mm throttle and i put on a 65mm throttle.

Its only that the throttle on scoupe looks "god damm" small.

The plan was to gain the boost to about 1.2bar and offcause make the Megasquirt but in some more gasolin.
But im waiting for my wideband 2" gauge, so i can be informed about the AFR.
