Hi - I recently purchased a hyundai sonata cdx 1999 2.0 and recently we ran extremely low on petrol - we used the car at 9 in the morning and then when we went out at 10 the engine turns really well but the car won't start - I have no manual to check where fuel filter is or carburettor or spark plugs and really need some help in finding these parts.

Any help would be greatly appreciatted

Sincerely
Brad

Don't know if your vehicle is FI but if it is you probably ran the tank so low the fuel pump burned up. In tank pumps are there because the fuel dampens the noise of it running and keeps it cool.

Just a possibility.

Hi Stewart - lucky for me the car is gone but I did find out what it was due to my step father and brother in laws help - they got it running by the way so this is all I can say...we bought a new sensor (a little blue thing) that was replaced behind the back seat somewhere can't remember what it was called but the funny thing was that we took it out and put the old one back in and the car worked just fine - i found out after posting that my girlfriend had in fact put petrol in the night before so figured out that the petrol was low (granted) but not totally dry - the part cost £13 but unfortunately I lost £350 on hte car - i have a vauxhaul(UK)/Opel now and couldn't be happier.

Thanx for the help
Brad
