I had a hard time passing the daytime running light test (one of the TC/RIV requirments) in Montreal with my AZERA 07. I could've simply installed the DRL from Canadian Tire or at the Dealership, but I found the other way to pass the test.

Canadian Tire never allows you to supervise your own car while a rookie tech guy drills holes in the body and peels off wires one by one until he finds the right one to connect. And even Hyundai dealership charges you close to 300$ for that simple matter.

In fact, regular DRL module cannot be installed normally because the green wire, which is skewed around spark wire, has no place to be installed in Azera. Azera engine has the spark wire inside the engine. It's a heck of a job just for a DRL.

I have consulted with a hyundai factory guy in Korea and found the way to activate DRL without ECU, without a additional module or wiring.

It's just like a regular DRL. The low light is always on when the car starts.

There is a special Relay that can activate DRL. This information can help people in Montreal area with a hyundai 2006+ to pass the fed test with a US Azera.

After you pass the test, you can disable DRL if you wish.

If you reside in Montreal area, I wish to help not to waste your money. My no. is 514-999-9574.

(I believe this post is not against the rule since it's not advertising. Asking for no money. In any case, if so, please advise me. Thanks)

Will this Special relay that you mention work on a 2008 Elantra that will be imported to Canada from the USA?

What is this relay called, and where can I get it?

Some car makers I have read about you can just install a DRL module and the DRL's will work.

Since US and Canadian Hyundai Elantras are all built in Korea, Is the US market Hyundai already pre-wired for DRLs?

Hi toughbaby,
Do you think that the solution to activating DRL's would work on my 2007 Entourage which I am taking into Canada from the USA next year?
Thanks
